Description
In the wild steppes of medieval Mongolia, before the rise of Genghis Khan, Chono, the youngest son of a revered shaman-chief, is chosen by the gods to inherit his father’s mantle. His elder brother, Gambaya, consumed by jealousy, accepts the decision in silence but nurtures a hatred that poisons his life and his son’s.
When Chono’s beloved firstborn, Monkhbat, joins Gambaya and his cousin Khuyag on a herding journey, the trip becomes a trap. Betrayed and murdered far from home, Monkhbat dies clutching the truth only for his spirit to awaken in the body of a wounded wolf.
