Description

Patrick was raised in a home where every morning began with prayer and every night ended with the words, “In Jesus’ name.” His father served as a respected church elder. His mother a self proclaimed deaconess. She dreamed of seeing her son become a pastor. Their son was expected to honour God, bring pride to the family, and become the first to attend Freetown university. Six months after leaving for Freetown, money began arriving home.

The church praised God’s favour upon Patrick. His parents thanked God for answering their prayers. Nobody asked how a university student could afford to send home more money than many working men earned.

When Patrick returned to Bo, a newly appointed pastor did something that stunned the entire congregation. Before everyone gathered for worship, he refused Patrick’s tithe and handed it back. From that day, questions spread through the town.

Who was Patrick in Freetown, Sierra,Leone?  Why would a pastor reject money given to God?  How could a young man admired by the church make some people uneasy simply by walking through the door?

Hidden behind the face of a devoted church boy is a secret that reaches far beyond lies. It is a life built on robbery, bloodshed, and choices that will bring unimaginable sorrow to the very people who prayed for his success.

Patrick: The Church Boy & His Gang of Robbers is a powerful story of faith, deception, family, and the terrible price of living two lives.
