Description
In the ninth century, in the northern kingdom of Valkyrgard, King Hangi reigns as a just and beloved ruler. His lands thrive in peace. His people live without fear of invasion, and the gods of old are honored in ritual and traditions.. Hangi’s legacy rests upon his two sons: Mundi, the eldest, a noble Berserker whose valor and loyalty endear him to the people, and Siggun, the younger, gifted with a sharp intellect but a restless ambition. Where Mundi is content with honor and family, Siggun burns with envy, convinced that he was meant to rule in his brother’s place.
At a great feast, Siggun’s hunger for conquest is revealed in words that unsettle his father. Hangi rebukes him, declaring that a king must rule with patience and wisdom, not with greed. This public wound deepens Siggun’s bitterness. Soon after, guided by rumors of forbidden knowledge, he seeks the counsel of Illughi, a sorcerer who leads him into the domain of the goddess of death. There Siggun swears an oath: in exchange for power and protection, he will sale his bloodline. He emerges with a strength beyond mortal men, able to summon terror in battle and break the will of his enemies, but there is secret and it too wants the throne.
